Ghanaian international, Osman Bukari who joined Austin FC in the MLS last transfer has garnered applause as claims the MVP of the night after scoring and assisting in their 3:1 win to secure quarter finals spot.
Osman Bukari had a standout performance for Austin FC in their 3-1 win over Houston Dynamo in the US Open Cup. He scored a crucial penalty kick goal in the 56th minute, doubling Austin FC’s lead to 2-0 after Jáder Obrian won the penalty. Bukari’s goal came after Brandon Vazquez’s impressive first-half goal in the 29th minute.
But Bukari’s contributions didn’t stop there. He also provided a brilliant assist for Austin FC’s third goal, beating his defender and finding Ilie Sánchez for a simple finish in the 60th minute. Sánchez’s goal sealed the win for Austin FC, who held on despite Houston Dynamo’s late consolation goal scored by Ezequiel Ponce in the 70th minute.
Bukari and his team are much optimistic regards to winning this years US Open Cup to add to their collections after a stand out performance.
